The 10 Best Habits Of Our Most Successful Clients
They say it takes 66 days to make something a habit – I’m not sure how accurate that is but its a figure which we tell our clients to go off. Today I am going to let you in on a little secret as to how we get the results we do and why we won’t be like every other gym this January. This blog post will give you a small insight into why ingraining habits WILL bring you to your goals. Mindset is key and often an under looked component as people usually just want to know about training and nutrition. Shifting your mindset towards setting habits is the key to our clients success.
December is usually the time in Ireland and gyms are empty and people say “ah sure i will start in January”. Our gym is the opposite and December is one of our busiest months. We wont have a mass marketing campaign in January with special offers, we are almost at capacity on all our programmes. The reason for this – we have clients who don’t make excuses and have been busy all year making creating habits that have lasted. They understand that december is just another month and if they do the hard work now they can enjoy their few days off knowing they deserve it. Sure there are hard times along the way but when you have habits the tough times don’t last too long.

So what are these habits :
Habit 1. They set goals at the beginning and know where they want to get to.
Habit 2. They understand it’s a lifestyle change and not a quick fix solution that ends.
Habit 3. They know the amounts of macro-nutrients (protein, fats, carbs) they need to eat each day to achieve their goals
Habit 4. They eat protein for breakfast (not protein shakes, real protein!!)
Habit 5. They drink the correct amount of water for their bodyweight each day
Habit 6. They eat cheat meals at least once, sometimes twice per week depending how low their body fat is and know that it’s beneficial
Habit 7. They train a minimum 4 times per week
Habit 8. They don’t make excuses for missing training
Habit 9. They record the weight lifted in each exercise and know what they need to lift each session to improve
Habit 10. They sleep a minimum of 7 hours per night
I would say that the above ten habits are the cornerstone for a successful body transformation – LONG TERM. You can achieve anything you want if you get the basics right and just stick with it. There are many programmes out there that produce short term results but you must remember before you start a new programme that you need to create habits to really change. If you don’t have habits you will not get to where you want to be and stay there. You can start today by working on 1 habit at a time – don’t try do all 10 at once or you will fail.
